Traveler’s Notebook 2027: Diary, Accessories & Release Date

Following the release of Hobonichi 2027, the Traveler’s Notebook 2027 lineup is finally here! I always look forward to seeing the new yearly designs, even though one of the best things about Traveler’s Notebook is that you never really need to replace the leather cover itself. A new year simply gives us another excuse to refresh what goes inside—and maybe add a few limited-edition accessories along the way. The 2027 collection includes the familiar dated diary refills for both Regular and Passport sizes, along with new Clear Folders, Writing Boards, and customization stickers designed around this year’s theme. Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming for 2027.

Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Release Date

The Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Diary collection will be released in Japan on September 10, 2026. For the United States and Canada, the official release date is October 19, 2026. TRAVELER’S COMPANY lists availability for other countries more generally as Autumn 2026.

In the U.S. and Canada, the 2027 Diary items will be available through the official Traveler’s Company USA store, Partner Shops, and other retailers that normally carry Traveler’s Notebook products. The annual items are produced in limited quantities, so some of the more popular accessories can become difficult to find once the initial stock sells through.

If you already know which format or accessory you want, it may be worth checking your favorite Traveler’s Notebook retailer around the release date rather than waiting until the end of the year. I’m especially curious to see which of this year’s accessories ends up being the one everyone tries to track down.

Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Diary Lineup

The Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Diary lineup keeps the familiar formats rather than introducing an entirely new planning system. That is probably a good thing—part of the appeal of Traveler’s Notebook is being able to keep the same leather cover and simply swap your inserts as your needs change.

The dated refills continue to use MD Paper, so they remain a good option if you like using fountain pens. Each 2027 diary also comes with a Diary Guide and a small customization sticker.

Regular Size 2027 Diaries

For Regular Size users, there are three main dated formats to choose from: Monthly, Weekly + Memo, and Weekly Vertical.

The 2027 Monthly Refill is the simplest option. It uses a monthly block layout covering December 2026 through January 2028, along with yearly calendars, a yearly schedule, blank pages, and travel information. It has only 48 pages, so it also works well if you want to keep your Traveler’s Notebook relatively slim or combine the calendar with several other inserts.

I like monthly layouts for exactly that reason. They give you the important dates at a glance without taking over the whole notebook. If your Traveler’s Notebook is mostly for journaling, travel records, sketching, or collecting little paper things rather than detailed scheduling, Monthly can be more than enough.

The Weekly + Memo Refill gives you one week on the left page and a full memo page on the right. The memo side uses a subtle grid, leaving enough flexibility for to-do lists, notes, journaling, stickers, receipts, or whatever else you happen to collect during the week. The full year comes as two inserts, with six months in each book.

This is probably the format that feels the most “Traveler’s Notebook” to me. There is enough structure to function as a planner, but the large blank-ish memo page still gives you room to make each week look completely different.

The Weekly Vertical Refill is the more schedule-focused option. Its vertical columns let you organize each day by time, making it particularly useful if you have appointments, meetings, school schedules, or other time-specific plans throughout the day. Like Weekly + Memo, the year is divided between two six-month inserts.

Passport Size 2027 Diaries

The Passport Size lineup is simpler, with Monthly and Weekly dated refills.

The 2027 Passport Monthly Refill offers the same basic monthly overview in a much smaller format. TRAVELER’S COMPANY even suggests using it as a secondary diary, which makes sense if you mainly want something small enough to carry everywhere.

The 2027 Passport Weekly Refill gives you a compact weekly diary and comes as two six-month books. Because there simply isn’t as much page space as the Regular Size, I think Passport works especially well when you want quick notes rather than elaborate planning spreads. It could also be really cute as a tiny everyday diary—just a sentence, sticker, stamp, or little memory for each day.

And of course, you don’t have to use a Traveler’s Notebook as a conventional planner at all. That flexibility is probably why I keep finding new ways to customize mine. Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Collection Theme

The theme for the Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Collection is “Every TRAVELER’S notebook is unique and that’s wonderful.”

It feels especially appropriate for Traveler’s Notebook because no two notebooks stay the same for very long. Everyone starts with essentially the same simple leather cover, but after months or years of use, they become completely different objects. One gets stuffed with train tickets and museum receipts, another becomes a perfectly organized planner, while someone else fills theirs with sketches, stamps, stickers, or travel journals.

The idea behind the 2027 theme also connects that individuality back to travel. TRAVELER’S COMPANY describes travel as an opportunity to encounter unfamiliar places, food, music, cultures, and people—and to appreciate those differences rather than expecting everything to be the same.

That concept carries through the limited 2027 graphics. Instead of making the yearly collection feel separate from the notebook itself, the designs celebrate what people actually do with their Traveler’s Notebooks: customize them, use them, and slowly turn them into something personal.

Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Accessories

This is always the part of the yearly release that is the most fun to look through. The diary layouts are practical, but the limited Traveler’s Notebook 2027 accessories are where the annual theme really shows up.

For 2027, the themed lineup includes Clear Folders, Writing Boards, and a Customized Sticker Set, with designs available for the two main notebook sizes where applicable.

Clear Folder 2027

The 2027 Clear Folder comes in both Regular and Passport sizes.

The Regular Size folder can hold things like postcards, tickets, and A4 papers folded into thirds, while the Passport version is sized for smaller pieces such as business cards, shop cards, stamps, and tickets.

Clear Folders are one of those Traveler’s Notebook accessories that make much more sense once you actually start carrying one. There are always little pieces of paper that you don’t necessarily want to glue into the notebook immediately—receipts, tickets, stickers you bought while traveling, business cards, or something you want to journal about later. Having a designated place to temporarily tuck those things away is surprisingly useful.

The 2027 artwork is based on the idea that each Traveler’s Notebook becomes different depending on its owner, which makes the Clear Folder particularly fitting for this year’s collection.

Writing Board (Shitajiki) 2027

The 2027 Writing Board (shitajiki) is another limited annual accessory, available in Regular and Passport sizes.

A writing board is basically a thin board that you place behind the page while writing. It gives you a firmer writing surface, which is useful when your notebook is already bulky or when you’re writing somewhere without a proper table. You can also use it as a bookmark or use the straight edge as a quick ruler. TRAVELER’S COMPANY describes those same uses for the 2027 version.

I also like that writing boards are functional without adding much bulk. And because the design changes every year, they’re an easy way to add something from the current collection without changing the overall look of your leather cover.

That is one thing I really appreciate about Traveler’s Notebook accessories in general: most of the customization happens around the leather rather than replacing it. The leather itself actually becomes more interesting as it ages. Customized Sticker Set 2027

The 2027 Customized Sticker Set is probably the easiest way to bring the yearly theme directly into your notebook.

The set includes several different types of stickers rather than just decorative sheets. There are index and pocket stickers, small icons for marking plans, dry-transfer elements, and stickers that can be used on the notebook cover itself.

I like this kind of set because you don’t have to commit to decorating an entire Traveler’s Notebook around one theme. You can use a few small pieces throughout the year and mix them with your existing stickers, stamps, charms, inserts, and other accessories.

And honestly, that feels more appropriate for the 2027 theme anyway. A Traveler’s Notebook looks best when it slowly collects things you genuinely like rather than looking like it came pre-decorated as one perfectly coordinated set.

Choosing Your Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Setup

If you’re new to Traveler’s Notebook, the number of inserts and accessories can make the system look more complicated than it really is. You definitely don’t need everything from the Traveler’s Notebook 2027 Collection.

A simple setup could be just a Monthly Diary plus a blank or grid notebook. That gives you enough structure for appointments and dates while leaving most of your notebook open for journaling or notes.

If you want one notebook to function as your main planner, Weekly + Memo gives you much more room to manage both your schedule and everything surrounding it. If your days depend heavily on specific times, Weekly Vertical is the more practical choice.

Passport Size makes more sense if portability matters most. I especially like the idea of using the Passport Monthly as a small calendar while leaving the rest of the notebook free for everyday notes and memories.

Then you can add accessories based on how you actually use it. A Clear Folder is useful if you collect paper ephemera. A Writing Board is worth considering if you write on the go or simply prefer a firmer surface. The sticker set is mostly about having fun with the 2027 theme—which, frankly, is reason enough if you enjoy customizing your notebook.

There’s also no reason your entire setup has to come from the 2027 collection. Traveler’s Notebook is designed to be mixed and changed over time, so older accessories, handmade additions, charms, stickers from your travels, and completely unrelated stationery can all live together.

What I’m Looking Forward to With Traveler’s Notebook 2027

What I like most about the Traveler’s Notebook 2027 collection is that the theme fits what makes these notebooks fun in the first place: they’re meant to become personal.
